Back in March, Google, the search giant, unveiled plans to test shopping ads in image search results. This new advertising approach allows marketers to display sponsored images among image search results (Google Images) with a shopping tag. Upon clicking, it identifies the corresponding item along with the price found in the image.

In addition to utilizing image search for advertising, it appears that Google is trying to promote its online shopping activities. According to a recent report from The Information, the search giant is experimenting with displaying product recommendations with prices below YouTube videos.
After clicking, the shopping links will redirect users to the Google Express page, where they can view detailed information about specific products, including reviews and ratings, return policies, and suggestions for related items.
Currently, it's unclear which country the new feature is being tested in. This experiment is believed to be part of Google's efforts to rebrand Express as Google Shopping amid competition with Amazon. According to reports, the Express market is gradually increasing the number of retailers.
The latest similar policy announced by YouTube last year allows creators with at least 10,000 subscribers to directly sell goods and products through their YouTube channels. If you don't have a YouTube channel yet, you can learn how to create a YouTube channel here.
At this point, it's challenging to determine whether Google's new shopping initiative can compete with online shopping services like Amazon or not.
