The feature enables users to make video calls with others for up to 24 hours. In a blog post, a Google representative mentioned that unlimited time for video calls in the video conferencing service was first introduced in April when Meet was available for free to everyone.
The unlimited calling feature had a time limit set until September 30. At that time, the company also extended free access to advanced features for G Suite and G Suite for Education customers. This feature was announced in March to meet the needs of users during the social distancing period due to COVID-19. These include support for up to 250 participants in a call, live streaming to a maximum of 100,000 viewers, the ability to record calls, and save them on Google Drive.
However, the latest changes only apply to regular customers. Google did not mention whether it applies to G Suite and G Suite for Education users. The company's goal is to 'continue to help those who rely on Meet stay in touch with others in the coming months.'
