Currently, the new subtitle translation feature is somewhat limited and can only translate English into four different languages: French, German, Portuguese, and Spanish. Subtitles can be displayed at the bottom of Google Meet video calls screen.

Google Meet Introduces Live Subtitles Feature
The search giant announced that it will begin rolling out the live subtitle feature for some Workspace Business Plus, Enterprise Standard, Enterprise Plus, and Workspace for Education Plus customers on January 12th and will deploy the new feature for all users within approximately 15 days.
To use this new feature, you need to update or download the latest version of Google Meet here:
- Download Google Meet for Android
- Download Google Meet for iPhone
- Download Google Meet for PC
Speaking about the new subtitle translation feature, Google stated that it helps users overcome language barriers, enabling better collaboration and ensuring the most effective meeting quality by balancing information sharing.
Administrators and meeting hosts don't need to take any action to activate the feature. Instead, participants can consider enabling/disabling automatically generated subtitles.
To activate live subtitles, users can visit Settings => Captions => Translated captions on Google Meet web. Alternatively, on the mobile app, access Settings => Captions => Live Captions => Translation Language.
