Google Photos has been continuously updated recently, aiming to enhance user experience and introduce more convenient features. One such feature that users have discovered is the ability to mark up photos on Google Photos. As the name suggests, this feature provides users with simple tools to draw/mark up on photos. However, at present, not all devices have received this feature update. A post on the Google Photos support forum indicates that it has only been rolled out to all Android users.
Google Photos Releases Photo Marking Feature
- Download Google Photos for Android.
- Download Google Photos for iPhone.
Using this feature is straightforward as the markup icon appears right in the editing interface. It provides users with options to choose from various colors and two types of brushes. For those accustomed to quick editing with the Photos app, this feature will indeed be a useful update. There is also a dedicated support page with more details on how to use this editing tool within Photos.
Besides these minor tweaks, reports also indicate that Google is experimenting with manually tagging human faces in Photos when automatic recognition fails. This feature has been confirmed to be part of the product update roadmap earlier this year.
This tagging tool is currently being rolled out to users worldwide. It may not be immediately visible to everyone and could take some time until all devices are updated.
