Google Play Store to Display Fluctuations in App Popularity

Google has commenced displaying the popularity level of apps listed in the Google Play Store. According to reports, the company will indicate this through upward and downward arrow icons to signify whether a specific app is trending upwards or downwards.

Specifically, the upward arrow indicates that an app is trending, while the downward arrow indicates the opposite. This information can be found in the Top Charts section of the Play Store.

CH Play will showcase the fluctuation in the popularity level of apps.

Even with this new addition, there are still two unanswered questions regarding app behavior. Firstly, how much an app has increased or decreased. Secondly, the duration since the app has trended up or down.

Recently, a report by Sensor Tower revealed that 2020 was a record-breaking year for both mobile apps and games, as well as the amount spent by users on the Play Store, reaching a global expenditure of $38.6 billion. In contrast, spending on the Play Store in 2019 was $29.7 billion.
