At the annual developer conference organized by Google earlier this year, they announced an expansion of privacy controls for several services, including the ability to delete activity history and incognito mode in more apps. Now, these announcements are being implemented and features are gradually being expanded.
Google introduces new privacy features for YouTube, Maps, and Assistant
Firstly, as previously announced, Google brings incognito mode to the Google Maps app. As expected, when you open this app, it won't store any information related to the locations you've searched for, and it also won't use any information to enhance your experience. You can click on your profile picture and enable this feature in the user menu.
Google also expands the auto-delete activity history feature for YouTube. This feature was previously only applicable to your Google account's activity and location history. Now, you can set the time to keep activity history. You can choose to keep history for 3 months, 18 months, or until you manually delete it.
In response to recent criticisms regarding companies listening in on users' conversations with their digital assistants, Google introduces a feature allowing users to delete their history using voice commands. For example, users can say 'Google, delete what I just said to you' or 'delete everything from last week.' This feature will be automatically enabled, so you won't need to install anything extra.
Incognito mode in Maps and auto-delete history in YouTube are already available, but the feature for Google Assistant won't be released for a few more weeks.
Recently, EA offers free Origin Access to users who enable login verification on Origin accounts. Specifically, EA has recently implemented a completely new strategy to enhance security for Origin accounts. Any user who activates login verification (two-factor authentication) will receive one month of free Origin Access.
