Managing current user profiles in Google Chrome can be somewhat perplexing, especially if you share a computer with family members. Although the browser allows you to switch between accounts and retain customized settings, the option to switch to your personal space isn't as straightforward as you'd like.
The latest Chrome update is shaking things up. Google has announced that the Chrome user profile management experience on computers is undergoing a makeover to facilitate easier switching between profiles and personalization.
The latest changes include a new account picker tool that will appear when you open Chrome, allowing you to log into your own account before using the browser. Additionally, there's an option for Guest mode, and you can easily add another user profile. Furthermore, you can create a new account and assign a color to it. This option helps you easily distinguish this account from others.
Similar to before, users can access extensions, saved passwords, history, themes, and bookmarks when signing into Chrome with their own profile, as well as sync those settings across multiple devices. The improved user profile management experience on Chrome will roll out in the coming weeks.
Google also announced that the ability to add articles to the Reading List for later reading is now available on Chrome for Android and computers. This feature was previously only available on iOS when Chrome 57 was launched.
