Here are some Google search tricks:
1. Exclude a Specific Word from Search Results
When using the - symbol, Google will display all web pages containing the search keyword but not the excluded word.
Syntax: Keyword -Word to Exclude.
- Example: Enter the following keyword in Google search box: welding -machine. The result is Google returning all web pages containing the keyword welding but without the word machine accompanying it in the content.
2. Mandatory Inclusion of a Specific Word in Search Results
By using the + sign, Google will find all web pages containing the search keyword and must include the specified additional word in the search results.
Syntax: Keyword +Mandatory Word.
- Example: Enter the following keyword in Google search box: welding +machine. The result is Google returning all search results with the keyword welding accompanied by the mandatory word machine.
3. Display Condensed Search Keywords.
Use the asterisk * to represent any character when the search keyword is too long.
Syntax: Keyword* Keyword.
- Example: Enter the following keyword in Google search box: machine* welding. The result is Google returning all search results with the keyword machine welding in the content.
4. Find Exact Search Keywords.
Use double quotation marks '' to display exact results containing the search keyword.
Syntax: 'Keyword'.
- Example: Enter the following keyword in Google search box: 'desktop computer'. The result is Google returning all search results containing the exact phrase desktop computer in the content.
5. Search Keywords Based on Web Page Titles.
Using the parameter intitle:, Google will find all web pages containing titles that include the search keyword.
Syntax: intitle:Keyword.
- Example: Enter the following keyword in Google search box: intitle:software tips. The result is Google returning all search results containing the keyword software tips in the web page titles.
6. Find Keywords within a Specific Domain.
By using the parameter site:, Google will pinpoint pages containing the keyword within a specified domain without considering other website addresses.
Syntax: Keyword site:Domain
- Example: Enter the following keyword in Google search box: pdf site:pdf.vn. The result is Google returning all search results containing the keyword pdf on the website pdf.vn.
7. Search Keywords within Web Page URLs.
Using the parameter inurl:, Google will find web pages with links containing the search keyword.
Syntax: inurl:Keyword.
- Example: Enter the following keyword in Google search box: inurl:funny. The result is Google returning web pages with the keyword funny in their URLs.
8. Find Files: Using the filetype Parameter.
Google will locate web pages with files having the specified file extension and names similar to the search keyword.
Syntax: Keyword filetype:Extension.
- Example: Enter the following keyword in Google search box: documents filetype:pdf. The result is Google displaying all files with the extension pdf containing the word documents.
9. Find Websites with Related Keywords.
Using the parameter related:, Google will locate websites with similar keywords.
Syntax: related:Keyword.

10. Find Cached Versions of Websites.
Using the parameter cache:, Google will locate websites that have ceased to operate but are still stored in Google's database.

11. View Backlinks to a Website.
Using the parameter link: reveals which websites have links to one's own or a specified website.
Syntax: link: Website Name to Find.
- Example: Enter the following keyword in Google search box: link:dantri.com.vn. The result is Google showing you all websites that have links to dantri.com.vn.
12. Combining Parameters.
Use one of the above parameters or combine multiple parameters at once to get highly accurate results for the desired keyword.
