According to a report by Android Police (via 9to5Google), the new search history feature on Google Translate is now available to all users.
Google Translate can now retain translation history.
From now on, users' devices will display prompts with the message 'Back up your translation history' along with additional options such as 'Manage history' and 'Translate without an account' for those who do not want to back up everything on Cloud services. On the other hand, synchronizing translation history does not affect the locally stored translation data on users' devices.

The 'History' option in the settings menu displays all previous translation requests by users in chronological order. Additionally, users can now star favorite translations for easy access from the main app screen by tapping the star icon in the top left corner.
Backing up Google Translate history to the cloud allows users to access translations across different devices, but it requires them to sign in to their Google account. 'The Translate app synchronizes history from your device to the cloud. When you sign in to your account, translations will automatically be saved to the cloud,' according to Google's support page.
Tap on the profile icon, then find and tap on 'History' to access Google account settings for the app. If you don't want to view translation history on your device, simply sign out of your Google account, or alternatively, clear all translation history.
In another news, the Translate app for Android has recently been enhanced with a new feature, a widget based on the new Material You language.
