The GPD P2 Max, an 8.9-inch mini laptop, was introduced in 2019 with an Intel Core m3-8100Y Amber Lake processor, 16 GB RAM, and 256 GB NVMe storage. Now, GPD has announced the upcoming launch of a new model with performance improvements and a lower price.
On the product introduction page, the GPD P2 Max 2022 is presented with compact dimensions of only 206 mm × 148 mm × 18 mm. The thinnest part of the body is only 5.5 mm, equivalent to the size of the iPad Mini 4 but with better performance than the MacBook.
The weight of the GPD P2 Max 2022 is 650g, equivalent to half the weight of an Ultrabook. It features a 2.5K touchscreen display with 10-point touch support, IPS technology, 100% sRGB color gamut coverage, and a wide 178-degree viewing angle, with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 px.
The upgrade for the 2022 version compared to 2019 is the Intel Pentium Silver N6000 11th generation processor, manufactured on a new 10nm process technology, featuring a dual-core four-thread design, and 4MB L3 cache. The device also integrates up to 1TB NVMe SSD.
Additionally, the GPD P2 Max 2022 also brings many improvements such as advanced Wi-Fi 6 technology, liquid cooling + fan cooling system, standard 'QWERTY' keyboard, and up to 16GB of RAM.
