The severity of an event depends on one's attitude and self-reaction.
Indeed, anything can happen in this world.
Groom disappears on the night before the wedding
The tragic tale unfolded for 27-year-old bride Kayley Stead from Swansea (UK). It's known that she and groom Kallum Norton, 21, had been together for 4 years. In April 2020, Kallum proposed to his girlfriend. Their wedding was planned for September 15, 2022.
However, on the eve of the wedding, while Kayley was celebrating with her bridesmaids at an AirBnB, the groom and groomsmen were partying nearby. For reasons unknown, the groom voluntarily left the group in the evening and never returned.

Kayley choked up: 'My family knew beforehand but they hid my phone. They also waited to see if he really left before making me panic.'
'Within a few hours, I said he would show up. I also reassured my bridesmaids and family. I sincerely believed he would come.'
Kallum's father later called to confirm his son's absence.

At this point, Kayley felt utterly devastated. She tried contacting him with no avail. The bride couldn't comprehend why the groom would disappear right before the wedding. However, she made a bizarre decision shortly after.
Despite the groom's absence, everything for the wedding was ready, from attire, food, speeches, dances to professional photographers.
Kayley decides to proceed with the wedding and walks down the aisle alone, disregarding the groom.
'I turned that day into a day I'll always be proud of. I can truly look back on it and smile because it reminds me that I don't need someone else's love to be happy,' she recounts.

The reception still went on despite the absence of the groom.
The bride then resumed her makeup, urging everyone to regain their spirits to attend the reception.
'I've spent all the money on this day, looked forward to the food or dancing with dad. So why not turn it into a family gathering day?' she reassures herself.
She also mentioned she didn't want to remember that day with sadness. The wedding videographer also encouraged her: 'Why don't you keep dancing and having fun? You've spent a large sum today, all your guests are here.'
Immediately, the bride's sister called the groomsmen and asked them to come to the wedding venue and join the reception.

So, what could have turned into a 'cruel' event became beautiful due to alternative arrangements. The photo booth with the sign 'Mr and Mrs' was quickly changed to 'Keyley's Shindig'.
Instead of dancing the first dance with the groom, the bride danced with her 71-year-old father Brian, 47-year-old brother Craig, 46-year-old Matthew, 46-year-old Gary, and another brother also named Craig, aged 43.
She even punched the wedding cake because it reminded her of Kallum.

She shared: 'I always dreamed of dancing with my dad at my wedding. The groomsmen also happily joined the party, and I want to thank them for staying. They didn't run away, I completely understand if they did. However, they stayed and attended this ceremony. All day, we talked a lot and it felt like we were in a movie,'
Indeed, the severity of an event depends on our thoughts and actions. Like Kayley, she turned a 'horrendous' day into a memorable event in her own unique way.
