Guidance for Tà Năng – Phan Dũng Trekking on the Weekend
Itinerary: Ho Chi Minh City – Đức Trọng – Tà Năng – Bay Waterfall – Yavly Waterfall – Phan Dũng – Ho Chi Minh City. Start your trek from Thursday evening to return by Sunday evening. Book bus tickets in advance to Tà Năng before commencing the trekking journey.

Equipment preparation:
Raincoat, backpack cover, an extra set of clothes (preferably made of elastic fabric).
Flashlight, backup battery.
Beverages, dry food (instant noodles, dried snacks…).
Wide-brimmed hat, water-resistant sandals, sanitary band (can be used for blood clotting, first aid when needed), personal tent, toe-capped shoes.
Medications (motion sickness, stomachache, runny nose, fever…), mosquito repellent, sunscreen.
Camera, backup battery, and charger.
Physical Fitness Preparation
Ensure regular physical training, focusing especially on the legs and shoulders. If you haven't experienced long-distance trekking, practice carrying a 7kg backpack for about 30 minutes daily to stabilize endurance and tense muscles before a week-long journey.
Day 1:
Gather at Lê Hồng Phong bus station at 9:00 PM, depart for Đà Lạt at 10:00 PM. You can choose bus companies like Phương Trang, Thành Bưởi…
Day 2:

Around 4:40 AM, reach Tà Hine junction, and by 5:10 AM, take a vehicle to Chợ Đà Loan, approximately 18 km away.
At 6:00 AM, rest, freshen up, have breakfast, and then go to the market to buy essential items for the adventure, such as rice, a machete, and chicken meat. For the journey, men should carry 5 liters of water, and women should carry 3.5 liters. From the market, rent a car to Tà Năng, drive about 22 km to reach the point where cars can no longer proceed.
Commence the journey: Trek at 12:00 PM to the mid-path stilt house for a 1.5-hour rest and lunch. At 4:00 PM, exit the forest to the border hill between Tà Năng and Phan Dũng, take photos, then continue over two hills to camp at the highest peak. Here, fetch water from the Cọp crevice for daily activities, and prepare dinner.
In the evening, if the weather is clear without rain, enjoy stargazing under the moonlit sky.
Day 3:
Wake up at 6:00 AM, prepare breakfast, make coffee, and welcome the sunrise at the most beautiful spot in Phan Dũng. Capture stunning photos or stroll to admire the surrounding scenic routes.
At 9:30 AM, the group sets off, continuing trekking until 11:00 AM, where a lunch break and rest are taken in the pine forest. At 12:00 PM, pass by Bay Waterfall, before embarking on the trek through rain, mist, mosquitoes, and forest frogs.
By 5:00 PM, the group can reach the base of Yavly Waterfall, set up camp, and prepare dinner.
Caution: This is a challenging route with steep slopes of 30-45 degrees, accompanied by numerous mosquitoes and easy to get lost. When encountering the first stream, everyone should stop to collect water for further use.

Day 4:
Wake up at 6:00 AM, prepare breakfast, make coffee, and explore Yavly Waterfall.
At 8:30 AM, the group sets off towards Phan Dũng, passing through the turmeric forest. At 12:00 PM, take a break and have lunch at the terraced fields next to a local community's house. Around 4:00 PM, the group arrives at the center of Phan Dũng commune, readies equipment to take a vehicle to Liên Hương town, then catches a car back to Ho Chi Minh City.
Additional Notes:
The journey is mostly at an altitude above 1,000 meters, so the weather might be slightly cold, with the possibility of rain during this season. Pay attention not to litter on the road; everyone must consciously gather and carry trash after each camping break.
