PowerPoint is an effective tool that enables you to create presentations, offering numerous integrated features to assist in tailoring your slideshows according to your preferences. While PowerPoint provides a plethora of pre-existing templates for creating presentations, designing your own template to suit your specific needs is also quite feasible.
The following article provides instructions on how to create templates for PowerPoint.
Step 1: Launch a blank PowerPoint page. For versions prior to 2010, PowerPoint typically opens to a blank page by default. However, for PowerPoint 2013, select Blank Presentation to create a blank slide.

Step 2: Navigate to the View tab -> Slide Master (Slide Master is a tool that allows you to create a consistent format for all slides in a PowerPoint file).

Step 3: Format the slides uniformly in the Template.
Select the first slide in the list of thumbnail slides on the left side, where you can format the slides collectively: Font color, font size, font style, alignment... under the Home tab. When formatting the first slide, all other slides will be changed in the same format.
Note: In Slide Master, you cannot enter content, only change formatting.

Step 4: Insert background for the Template.
Choose a background style in the Background Styles section. Alternatively, you can select a custom background by choosing the Slide Master tab -> Background Styles -> Format Background.

When the Format Background window appears on the right side, select Picture or texture fill, then choose File and locate the background image you want to insert for the Template. To apply the background to all existing slides or new ones, select Apply to All.

Step 5: Create a cover page for your PowerPoint template.

Step 7: Save the newly created Template.
Select File -> Save (shortcut Ctrl + S), for PowerPoint 2013, choose File -> Save -> Computer -> Browse.

A Save As dialog appears, navigate to the file save path, enter a name for the Template in the File name field, in the Save as type field, select PowerPoint Template, then click Save to save.

Note: It is advisable to save the Template in the directory at C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Templates for easy retrieval.
Now you know how to create a Template for PowerPoint. To use your Template, simply Open to the saved Template path. Wishing you success!
