Step 1: On the toolbar, select the Insert tab
Step 2: Next, click on Online Video under the Media section
Step 3: The Insert Video dialog box appears, offering you 3 options to search for online videos. We'll use Youtube for its ease of use and vast video library. Enter your keywords and hit Enter to begin searching
Step 4: Choose your desired video and click Insert to embed the video into Word. If you want to search again using different criteria, click on Back to sites. To search using different keywords, modify the keywords in the search bar
Step 5: The video has been added. To play the video, simply click on the Play icon on the screen
Step 6: You can also adjust the position of the video or make other edits by clicking on the Layout Options icon next to the video
Embedding offline videos into Word
Step 1: On the toolbar, select File
Step 2: Next, choose Options to open the Word Options dialog box
Step 3: In Word Options, select the Customize Ribbon tab. Check the box for Developer under Customize the Ribbon and then click OK to confirm
Step 4: You'll see the Developer tab appear on the Ribbon toolbar. Click on Developer, then in the Controls section, choose Legacy Tool and select More Control..
Step 5: In the More Control dialog box, scroll down and click on Windows Media Player. Finally, click OK to confirm
Step 6: Right-click on the Windows Media Player Media Player and select Properties. A Properties window will appear. Choose Custom, then click the three-dot icon ...
Step 7: Select Browse... under the File Name or URL section to choose the video to embed into Word
Step 8: Choose the video and click Open to add the video
Step 9: After adding the video, click OK to confirm
Step 10: To play the video, click on Design Mode on the toolbar
Step 11: You can right-click on the playing video to perform actions like pause, play, fast forward, and more
