This tutorial demonstrates how to sketch a brick wall. Simply follow these steps! Use the provided red lines as guides. Make sure to use precise measurements, requiring an inch ruler.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Sketch a square measuring 6 inches (15.2 cm) by 6 inches (15.2 cm).
Trace the horizontal lines using a darker pencil.
On the first row of horizontal lines, draw vertical lines every 1 inch (2.5 cm) or every 2 blocks of the grid. Repeat this pattern on alternate rows (1st, 3rd, 5th, etc.). On the second row of horizontal lines, draw a vertical line at half an inch or the first block of the grid, then measure intervals of 1 inch (2.5 cm) or every 2 blocks of the grid, adding additional vertical lines until reaching the end. Repeat this pattern on alternate rows (2nd, 4th, 6th, etc.).
Ink over the drawing. Remember to use a ruler and erase any sketch lines.
Apply color to your drawing, and your brick wall is complete.
