This guide will walk you through the process of registering your business on Google. It's a free and effective way to ensure your business appears in Google searches.
Steps
Visit https://business.google.com/ using any web browser. This works on both PC and Mac.
Click Start Now. Look for the green icon in the upper-right corner.
Enter your business name and click Next. Click the 'Business name' field and input your business name. Then, click the blue 'Next' button.
Provide your location details. On the following page, input your address details. Choose your country, enter your street address, city, select your state, and input your zip code (if applicable). If you offer delivery services, check the corresponding checkbox. Click 'Next' when done.
Specify your business category. Use the designated field to input your business category. As you type, relevant categories will appear. Select the appropriate category and click 'Next' to proceed.
Enter your phone number and website. Proceed to the contact information page. Input your phone number and select your country from the dropdown menu. Then, enter your website URL. Click 'Next' to continue.
Choose your notification preferences. Indicate whether you wish to receive tips from Google by selecting 'Yes' or 'No.' Click 'Next' to move forward.
Tap on Continue. It's the blue button located at the bottom of the screen. This action confirms your authorization to manage the business listing.
Tap on Mail. It's the blue button located below the instructions prompting you to select a verification method. Google will dispatch a postcard containing a 5-digit code. Proceed to https://business.google.com/ to log in and manage your business listing. Some features will remain inaccessible until you verify your location using the 5-digit code from the postcard.
Confirm your location. Upon receiving the postcard with the 5-digit code, visit https://business.google.com/ and select 'Verify location' from the left sidebar. Enter the 5-digit code in the designated field labeled 'Enter code' and click 'Verify.' This action will grant access to all features of the Google business website, enabling comprehensive management of your business listing.
