Currently, there's no official information regarding the full release of Android 6.0 for older devices. According to Google, Android 6.0 Marshmallow will soon be available on some Nexus devices. Nevertheless, you can still update to this latest OS version via OTA.
Here, Mytour.vn will guide you through updating to Android 6.0 in a somewhat traditional manner. However, it's crucial to install the ADB tool on your computer before proceeding with the following steps.
Download OTA
First step to update Android 6.0 Marshmallow via OTA is to download the appropriate OTA image file for your device.
Note: You need to download and install the October update for Nexus devices before you can update to Marshmallow.
Prepare Your Device
As soon as you download the OTA zip file to your computer, restart your device. To do this, power off your device and turn it back on while holding the volume down and power buttons simultaneously. Recovery Mode will appear. Press the volume down button until you see the text “Recovery Mode,” then press the power button. You'll then see the screen below:
Finally, when you see the green Android icon on the screen, press and hold the power button down and then press and hold the volume up button until the menu appears. In that menu, select “apply from ADB” and ensure your device is connected to the computer.
