Below are the necessary documents to prepare when planning to enter Hong Kong for tourism or to visit relatives.
Required documents include:
1. Original valid passport (must have a minimum validity of 6 months from the intended date of entry and at least 4 consecutive blank pages for VISA stickers).
2. 02 color photos sized 4x6cm (white background, taken clearly within the last 6 months)
3. Photocopy of all pages of the household registration book enlarged by 120%
4. Double-sided photocopy of identification card
5. Proof of occupation or employment: for example, a certificate of appointment, company-approved leave document, or company business registration certificate.
6. Financial proof:
- Photocopy of savings book with a minimum balance of $1,500 USD
- or Official bank statement with a minimum balance of $1,500 USD
In cases where there is no proof of occupation, financial proof of $10,000 is required.
7. Invitation letter from Hong Kong authorities (please obtain at the embassy). The sponsor must be over 18 years old, a trustworthy citizen of Hong Kong, and acquainted with you. You need to provide a certified copy of the relationship certificate with the sponsor (if the purpose of entry is to visit family).
8. If you are under 18 years old, it is mandatory to travel with someone aged 18 or above:
If traveling with both parents: a certified copy of the birth certificate, marriage certificate, and household registration is required.
If traveling with either parent: an authorization letter from the other parent and confirmation from the local authorities along with the household registration and certified marriage certificate are necessary.
Traveling with someone else: an authorization letter with confirmation from the police, ward authorities for an accompanying adult, along with the household registration and certified marriage certificate of the parents.
9. Certified copy of the travel purpose certificate such as the receipt for purchasing air tickets for the tour, flight schedule, etc.
Two methods to submit visa applications:
1. You can send your application and all documents to your sponsor for them to submit it to the Immigration Office in Hong Kong at the following address: Receipt and Despatch Unit, Hong Kong Immigration Department, 2/F, Immigration Tower – 7 Gloucester Road, Wan Chai, Hong Kong. The processing time is approximately 4 weeks.
2. The sponsor can submit their application and documents to you for you to submit at the Chinese Embassy or Consulate in Vietnam. The processing time is 5 days to 1 week.
General notes:
- All financial and occupational documents must be in English/Chinese or certified translations.
- Visa fees are non-refundable if your Hong Kong visa application is denied.
- Customers from Da Nang should submit and collect passports in Ho Chi Minh City. Customers from Hue should submit and collect passports in Hanoi.
- Retired individuals should submit a photocopy of their pension book.
- When submitting the application, include an additional photocopy identical to the original. Use A4-sized paper for photocopies, avoid fax paper, ensure clear writing, and center the content on the page.
