If your Facebook Fanpage is facing issues with its Name such as being inappropriate, not catchy, or not reflecting the content accurately, don't worry, you can still change it. In this article, we'll walk you through the steps to change the name of your Facebook Fanpage.
Step 1: Access the Fanpage you want to rename and navigate to the About section.
Note: Only those with the highest authority on the Fanpage (Admins) can change the name.
Step 2: Next, locate the Name section and click Edit to proceed with renaming your page.
Step 3: Finally, enter the desired name for your page here and press Continue to complete the process.
Note: Make sure to carefully read Facebook's guidelines on renaming Fanpages.
- Avoid using language or phrases that are offensive, abusive, or infringe upon freedom, individual rights, or human dignity.
- Avoid naming your page with terms like 'official,' 'Facebook,' or synonyms.
- Do not write in all uppercase letters, names must be capitalized correctly and not in all capital letters (except for abbreviations). Example: kHônG sỢ cHó – Invalid.
- Do not use unnecessary punctuation, and do not include the ® symbol.
- Absolutely refrain from creating Fanpages that impersonate other Fanpages with official ownership within the Facebook community.
Step 4: After changing the name, you can preview the name before making the change. Once you're satisfied with the new name, select Request Change to proceed with the renaming process.
Step 5: Immediately after you submit the Request for the change, Facebook's management system will check if it meets the criteria. If the name is acceptable and appropriate, Facebook will allow you to proceed with the change. If unsuccessful, you'll need to choose a different name that complies.
Step 6: On Facebook Fanpage, it's not just the display name that matters; we also have the username. The username appears directly below the Fanpage name, for consistency, you should also change the Username.
Access your Fanpage -> About section and select Create Username for Page (if you haven't set a Username before) / Edit (if you've previously set a Username).
Step 7: Then, select Set Username and press Create Username/ Continue.
Note: The Username must be related to the Fanpage name for consistency and easy recognition.
Step 8: When setting the Username, it will be changed quickly and without the need for approval, as long as the Username does not overlap with others.
