I. Guide to Registering a VNeID Account on Your Phone

1. Quick Guide

Open the VNeID app and click register => Enter phone number, ID card number => Fill in personal information => Check the 'Terms of Use' box => Click Register => Confirm OTP code => Set password => Confirm.

2. Detailed Instructions
Step 1: First, you need to download and install the latest version of VNEID.
- Android version download link: VNEID for Android
- iOS version download link: VNEID for iPhone

Step 2: Open the VNeID app and click Register => Enter Personal ID Number or National ID Card Number => Enter Phone Number => Click Register.

Step 2: Fill in personal information, there are 2 methods to do this:
- Method 1: Click the QR code scan icon, aim the camera to scan the QR code on your chip-attached ID card (CCCD).

Step 3: Enter the OTP code sent to your registered phone number => Set up a password for your VNeID account => click Confirm.

- Upon successful registration of the VNeID app account, the app will display a notification, and at this point, you can log in to the app to proceed with registering for Level 1 digital identity accounts.

- After successfully logging in, proceed with the steps to register for Level 1 digital identity accounts to use integrated services at Level 1: health declaration, vaccination information, resolving online public services, conducting financial transactions such as paying electricity, water bills, updating news, articles, notifications.

II. Guide to Registering VNeID Level 1 Account

1. Quick Guide

After logging in => Register for Level 1 digital identity account => Scan the CCCD card using QR or NFC => Take a portrait photo => Check the profile result => Successful registration notification.

2. Detailed Instructions
Step 1: After successful login, select Register for Level 1 digital identity account => Press Start.

Step 2: If your mobile device supports NFC, a notification screen will appear => To begin reading card information using NFC, press I understand.
- If your device does not support NFC or NFC reading feature is faulty => Scan the QR code on the face of the chip-attached national ID card. After successfully scanning NFC or QR => Notification screen result appears => Press Continue.

Step 3: A notification suggesting to watch selfie photo capture instructions via video appears => Select Watch video to start watching instructional video => Select Skip after watching the instructions.

Step 4: Capture portrait photo following the steps instructed on the app. Notification screen result appears => Select Confirm.

Step 5: Select Return to home page =>Check results/registration status/processing status of Level 1 digital identity account.

- Notification: Profile is being processed.

- Notification: Profile approved via message or app you can now start activating your digital identity account on your device.

- After completing the procedure to register for Level 1 digital identity account, if your profile has achieved results, proceed to activate your digital identity account to start using the application.

At the homepage or login page select activate => Enter ID card number, phone number => Enter OTP code => Set passcode => Set security question => Successfully activated.

Step 1: At the VNeID app homepage, select Activate digital identity account or at the login page select Activate.

Step 2: Enter accurate personal information including personal identification number/ID card number, phone number =>Send request => Enter OTP code to authenticate.

Step 3: Set up passcode (Passcode is a type of security code used for authentication when using services on the app).

Step 4: Set up security questions, click Confirm when all information has been filled.
- Security questions are used in some cases to verify your identity.

- After successful registration, proceed to log in and the homepage of Level 1 digital identity account appears. Here, you can use features and services at Level 1.

Here is how to register for a VNeID account and use Level 1 features at home via the app. To register for Level 2 digital identity account, you need to bring your chip-attached electronic ID card to the local police station or administrative office to apply for the electronic identity account.
