With the Medical ID feature, you can promptly call for emergency assistance directly from the Lock Screen. Moreover, you can set up contacts of friends or family to assist you without the need to unlock the screen, saving valuable time.
Guide to activate the Medical ID feature on iPhone 6 running iOS 8
1. Set up Medical ID on iOS 8:
Step 1: Launch the Health app on the screen.
Step 2: Press Medical ID at the bottom right of the screen.
Step 3: Proceed to the Create Medical ID section.
Step 4: Choose the on/off mode to display Medical ID on the lock screen.
Step 5: To add a photo, click on Add Photo.
Step 6: Enter the necessary information as per the requirements.
Step 7: Add emergency contact is the section where you can input the phone number of the person you want to contact in case of an emergency.
Step 8: Click on Done to complete and save the information.
2. How to access Medical ID from the lock screen on iOS 8:
Step 1: Once set up on the lock screen, tap on (Emergency) on the left side of the screen.
Step 2: Next, select Medical ID at the bottom left of the screen.
In urgent situations, you or your loved ones can now easily notify those around for timely assistance by setting up Medical ID as instructed above. This is a highly useful feature on iOS 8.
