Portable Document Format (PDF), a standard file compatible across different platforms, is becoming increasingly popular due to its compactness, ease of storage, and shareability. However, PDF files impose a severe limitation by restricting user intervention such as editing or copying data from PDF.
Perhaps most users, when they need to work with PDF files such as editing, copying data, often choose to convert PDF files to more manageable text formats like Word, using software or online conversion applications. However, if we only want to copy a small portion of it, such conversion processes are time-consuming and labor-intensive. Foxit Reader will bring you the simplest file editing feature, allowing users to freely edit, copy data directly from PDF files at any desired text segment.

Step 1: After downloading and installing Foxit Reader, launch the program. Open the PDF file you wish to copy data from by clicking the file open icon or using the shortcut Ctrl + O.
Step 2: Then, navigate to the location of the PDF file, select it, and click Open to open the file.
Step 3: After opening the file, you may notice that you cannot select text or edit anything within the PDF file.
Step 4: To select and highlight a text section as in Word, click on the T - Select Text icon or use the shortcut Alt + 6.
Step 5: Now you can freely select the text section to copy. Highlight it and then right-click to choose Copy, or use the shortcut Ctrl + C to copy that text section.
Step 6: Additionally, you can select any area in the text to copy without following the line order. Right-click on the blank space of the text section you want to copy, then drag the mouse to highlight the selection. For example, as shown in the image below.
You can also choose to copy image data from the PDF file.
Step 1: Click on the Select Annotation option, which is the mode for interacting with media data within the PDF file.
Step 2: Then, you can freely select the image you want to copy and perform the copy operation as mentioned above. Right-click and choose Copy, or use the shortcut Ctrl + C.
Step 3: Additionally, if you want to copy multiple images at once, you can use the Snapshot feature on the toolbar or use the shortcut Alt + 7.
Step 4: Press and hold the right mouse button to select the area you want to copy. A notification will appear, indicating that the selected area has been copied to the clipboard. Click Ok to close the notification.
