Cutting and merging are essential steps to craft an engaging video on Instagram Reels. You don't need any other apps; you can seamlessly cut, merge, and organize clips directly within Instagram using the steps below.
When filming, overthinking details can stifle your creativity. So, feel free to capture the scenes you need, and then edit them within Instagram.
Step 1: On the main interface of Instagram, swipe from left to right to enter creative mode.
Step 2: Before diving in, choose the Reels mode on Instagram. Then, you can either capture a new clip or add clips from your library.
Step 3: When recording a new clip, hold down the Record button to start and release to finish. Repeat this process to create distinct individual clips.
If you've prepared clips in your library, incorporate them by tapping on Library at the bottom left corner >> select a clip >> Add.
Repeat the above steps to add multiple clips.
Step 4: After adding all the clips you need, press Next >> Edit Clip.
Step 5: To arrange your clips in the desired order, choose Rearrange.
Step 6: Drag and drop your clips to your preferred positions. When satisfied, press Done.
Step 7: If a clip seems too long, trim it to keep viewers engaged. To trim a clip, tap on the clip in the editing screen.
Step 8: Drag the sliders at both ends of the clip to limit its playback time. Utilize the Play button at the bottom left corner to preview how your clip will start and end.
Step 9: Once completed, press All Clips to return to the editing screen.
Step 10: If you want to delete a specific clip, tap on it >> Delete >> Confirm.
With these actions, you've now compiled a complete edit for your video. Press Done to proceed to the next step.
Step 11: Here, you can add music, stickers, filters, text, and drawings to your video. These tools appear at the top right of the screen.
When ready to post, tap Next.
Step 12: Add an intriguing title to your video and press Share to upload the video to Instagram.
