Most software created today primarily serves the Windows platform. With Windows, users have more software choices; however, the MAC OS X operating system of the Macbook also provides a great experience due to its smooth operation and beautiful graphics, along with high security. System requirements:
- 1 USB with a minimum capacity of 8 GB formatted as FAT or NTFS
- MacBook with pre-installed Boot Camp.
- Windows installation package in .ISO format (Download the official .ISO file from Microsoft)
Steps to install Windows 10 on MacBook
Step 1: Copy the Windows 10 installation package to your Mac, then launch the Boot Camp software using the search bar on your MacBook.
Press Command + Space to open the Spotlight search window, then type Boot Camp.
Step 2: Click Continue to begin
Step 3: Select the tasks you need to perform before proceeding with the installation.
- Windows installation package (Windows 7 and above)
- USB for creating the installation package (Formatted as FAT or NTFS)
Make sure the checkboxes are ticked, then click Continue to proceed with the installation
Step 4: Connect the USB to your MacBook. Then, select the partition containing the prepared ISO installation file; the system will automatically detect the USB.
Verify all details carefully before proceeding with the installation. Note that data on the USB will be lost due to formatting.
Step 5: A warning popup about formatting the data on the USB will appear. Click Continue to confirm and proceed
Step 6: The installation process begins. Boot Camp will format your USB and use it as an external device containing the Windows installation package before installing it on the MacBook's hard drive. It will also automatically install device drivers compatible with Windows
Step 7: Drag and drop to adjust the partitions for the two operating systems. Note that you need to adjust the partitions of both systems to be compatible.
Click Install to initiate the Windows 10 installation
Step 8: The computer will restart to commence the Windows 10 installation
The installation begins, and you can now choose the installation language
Step 9: Click Install now to initiate the installation options
Step 10: Enter the Windows 10 installation key. If you don't have a key, you can click I don't have a product key to skip this step.
Step 11: Choose the Windows version to install. Note: Select a version that suits you; the Home version has fewer features than the Pro version.
Step 12: Tick the I accept the license term box, then click Next to proceed
Step 13: Select the installation partition. This is the hard drive partition you allocated for Windows in Boot Camp
Step 14: The Windows installation process begins.
Step 15: The final steps to complete the installation
After completing the installation, your MacBook will restart into Windows. The drivers on the machine are pre-installed to be compatible with Windows, so no additional steps are needed.
