Guide to Turning Off YouTube Notifications on Android and iOS Phones

Simply subscribing to a Youtube channel automatically triggers notifications for new activities on that channel.

Implementation Steps

Step 1: On the phone interface, you open the Youtube app, look at the upper right corner, you click on the account icon (Figure 1). Next, you click on 'Settings' (Figure 2).

Step 2: In the settings interface, you click on 'Notifications' (Figure 3). Switching to the notification interface, you slide the bars on the right from green to gray (Figure 4) like:

- Subscribed channels.
- Suggested videos.
- Activity on my channel.
- Activity on my comments.
- ...

Note: Remember to slide the screen upwards to turn off notifications for the items below until all the sliding bars turn completely gray.

Step 3: At this point, the sliding bars turning gray means you have successfully turned off YouTube notifications.

3. How to enable YouTube notifications on your phone

If you want to re-enable YouTube notifications on your phone, follow these steps:

Step 1: Open YouTube on your phone and look at the upper right corner, you click on your account icon (Figure 1). In the Account interface, you click on 'Settings' (Figure 2).

Step 2: Click on 'Notifications' (Figure 3) and then slide the bars on the right side of the interface from gray (Figure 4).

When the gray bars turn green from gray starting with Subscribed channels, you have successfully re-enabled YouTube notifications.

With just a few simple steps here, you can easily turn off YouTube notifications on your phone, be more proactive in watching videos on YouTube without being disturbed by YouTube notifications.
