Previously, users only had options to unlock their iPhone such as using an Apple Watch, removing the mask, or entering a passcode. With the latest iOS update, iOS 15.4, Apple has addressed this issue by enabling Face ID to function everywhere, even with a mask on or for payments through Apple Pay.
