- The Cybersecurity Law is a legal document issued by the state to regulate individual behaviors occurring in cyberspace, aimed at protecting national security, ensuring order, and safety in cyberspace.

2. When does the Cybersecurity Law take effect?
- The Cybersecurity Law of 2018, bill number 24/2018/QH14, was passed on June 12, 2018, during the 5th session of the XIV National Assembly with 87% approval from delegates.
- The Cybersecurity Law takes effect from January 1, 2019.
In addition to the Cybersecurity Law, businesses operating in Telecommunications, Information Technology, Telecommunications Electronics,... also need to comply with the provisions of the Law on Cybersecurity No. 86/2015/QH13. There are many aspects to consider regarding the Cybersecurity Law, however, given the current trend of social media usage, here are some key points to keep in mind:
- Currently, the use of social networking sites such as Facebook, Instagram, and Zalo is an individual's right under the provisions of the Civil Code. Citizens have the right to access, use, freedom of speech, express opinions, start businesses, and implement creative ideas on these platforms but are prohibited from engaging in the following activities:
+ Using cyberspace to organize, engage in, collude, incite, bribe, deceive, recruit, train anti-State individuals.
+ Using cyberspace to distort history, deny revolutionary achievements, undermine national unity, offend religion, discriminate based on gender, race.
+ Using cyberspace to spread false information causing panic among the people, causing harm to other activities.
+ Using cyberspace for prostitution, social vices, human trafficking; posting obscene, depraved, criminal information; undermining national customs, community morals, and public health.
Engaging in the aforementioned violations according to the provisions of the Cybersecurity Law may result in administrative fines, criminal liability prosecution, and civil liability if damages are caused.
