- The Cybersecurity Law of 2018, bill number 24/2018/QH14, was passed on June 12, 2018, during the 5th session of the XIV National Assembly with 87% approval from delegates.
- The Cybersecurity Law takes effect from January 1, 2019.

Citizens have the right to access, use, freedom of speech, express opinions, start businesses, and implement creative ideas on these platforms but are prohibited from engaging in the following activities:
+ Using cyberspace to organize, engage in, collude, incite, bribe, deceive, recruit, train anti-State individuals.
+ Using cyberspace to distort history, deny revolutionary achievements, undermine national unity, offend religion, discriminate based on gender, race.
+ Using cyberspace to spread false information causing panic among the people, causing harm to other activities.
+ Using cyberspace for prostitution, social vices, human trafficking; posting obscene, depraved, criminal information; undermining national customs, community morals, and public health.
