When discussing the most notable destinations during the flood season in the Western region, Tram Chim National Park cannot go unmentioned. It can be said that this place is one of the most lively and vibrant spots in the area.
Guiding Directions to Tram Chim National Park, Dong Thap
Situated amidst the watery lowlands of the former Dong Thap Muoi region, Tram Chim National Park – often referred to as a miniature Dong Thap Muoi – features pristine ecological landscapes.

Tram Chim is also the 4th Ramsar site (wetland reserve) in Vietnam and the 2,000th globally, holding paramount importance in the Southeastern region with over 7,000 hectares and nearly 150 resident bird species.

Every year, as the waters flood in, Tram Chim National Park adorns itself with vibrant new colors and the dazzling dance of nature. Instead of opting for the typical dawn visit, you can embark on your journey in the afternoon to relish in the marvelous scenery. Additionally, the flood season is also the time when the lotus fields in Dong Thap bloom abundantly, so cruising amidst the vast lotus ponds allows you to fully embrace the beauty of the expansive lotus fields here.

Here, you will leisurely cruise on traditional boats amidst picturesque scenery, surrounded by rivers on all sides, while in the distance lies vast green cajuput forests with flocks of storks gracefully returning, occasionally a heron glides past the boat's bow. Carp leap out of the water, white lotus ponds shimmer in purity, alongside countless rice fields... all providing travelers with a truly serene moment to pause and immerse themselves in nature.
