Gumayusi has faced many challenges while competing for T1.
At the moment, T1 is proving to be a true winning machine in LCK Spring 2023. They've secured a streak of 9 consecutive victories by defeating KDF 2-0 on March 3rd. It wouldn't be surprising if T1 finishes the Group Stage in first place.

In T1's current success, Marksman Gumayusi makes a significant contribution. Despite not shining brightly or earning as many MVP points as Oner or Keria, Gumayusi demonstrates remarkable stability. This has made Gumayusi an ideal role model for many young Marksmen like Envyy and Taeyoon.
Responding to this issue in an interview, Gumayusi revealed: 'My career truly resembles a TV series, with plenty of drama and numerous ups and downs. I admire T1 and have had to put in a lot of effort to fight for the starting position. Afterwards, I've also experienced plenty of success, failure, and criticism from others to rise up. It's truly fulfilling when the next generation of players respects and sees me as an ideal role model.'

Back in LCK Spring 2021, Gumayusi went through a period of decline. As a result, he had to give up the starting position in some matches to Teddy. This decline partly contributed to T1 only reaching the top 4 position in that tournament. As a fan of T1 himself, this deeply saddened Gumayusi.
Furthermore, Gumayusi and T1 have also faced bitter disappointments when stepping onto the international stage. In 2022 alone, they suffered defeats in both the MSI and Worlds Finals. These are truly sad memories for both the team and Gumayusi personally.

Perhaps the past setbacks have helped Gumayusi play with confidence and utmost effectiveness. This is propelling T1 to great heights with an extremely long winning streak, poised to claim the LCK Spring 2023 title. Hopefully, Gumayusi will maintain this form for the remainder of the season and help T1 achieve even more success.
