Few would have thought that the best game of 2022 would be ravaged by such cheating hacks.
As the best game of 2022, it's understandable that Elden Ring has caught the attention of hackers. The game itself has a long history of incidents caused by hacks and cheats, but because the impact was not significant and the number of victims was relatively few, not many paid attention to it. However, recently, whether out of boredom or frustration with the long wait for a new expansion, hackers have begun to target Elden Ring, employing countless 'special' tricks.
Recently, a wave of Elden Ring players fell victim to hackers, with their character data files being corrupted. Specifically, when faced with this situation, victims would find their game experiencing issues, with characters constantly being defeated by falling off the map. This would repeat every time the player reopened Elden Ring. And most recently, another serious error has been reported, also caused by the all-powerful 'wizards' within Elden Ring.
Based on the latest uploaded videos, it's evident that the tricks employed by hackers this time around are similar to many previous incidents. In one recent unfortunate case, a gamer was invaded by two hackers. One of them left the player dazed, while the other unleashed a blinding flash of light accompanied by a sleep-inducing effect. Immediately, the victim's screen lit up, then dropped frame rates to 1, rendering the gameplay almost impossible to continue. Even after restarting Elden Ring, the same issue persisted in Single Player mode.
Notably, game publisher FromSoftware seems to have no specific solution to this issue. Moreover, their anti-cheat software, Easy Anti-Cheat, is increasingly under suspicion. It's worth remembering that this software is owned by Epic Games and is currently used for Fortnite as well. And Fortnite has also been one of the victims of severe hacking and cheating since its release.
