The story of Master Chief on PC continues with new features, optimizations, and customizations for the platform. Halo 3 brings a better look and feel with a 60fps (or higher) frame rate, support for up to 4K UHD, and numerous PC-specific enhancements. Players can fine-tune their experience with a range of options including frame rate, native mouse/keyboard support, controller remapping, ultrawide screen support, various frame rate caps, adjustable field of view, updated/shadow quality textures, and much more.
The arrival of Halo 3 also heralds the birth of a new progression system for The Master Chief Collection with the beginning of an entirely new season. Season 2 will introduce 100 new items that fans can unlock through gameplay, as well as event-based challenges and new weekly missions. Customization capabilities across The Master Chief Collection are also enhanced, featuring Unreal 3D rendering. Halo: Combat Evolved will also feature new customization options such as reticles, weapon skins, and new vehicles.
PC players will be able to experience Halo 3 in various ways depending on the platform they choose:
- Xbox Game Pass: Join Xbox Game Pass for PC (Beta) and continue the sci-fi saga with Halo 3. Halo 3: ODST (Campaign) and Halo 4 will also be included in your account and will be available on their respective release dates, completing the collection by 2020.
- Microsoft Store and Steam: The Halo: The Master Chief Collection bundle is currently available for $39.99 USD including Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo: Reach, Halo 2: Anniversary, and Halo 3, and will automatically update with the remaining titles as they launch throughout the year.
