As evident from the specifications above, the ROG Strix SCAR 15 comes pre-installed with the latest Windows 11 OS, integrated with a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080Ti graphics card boasting up to 150 W TGP. With such specs, the ROG Strix SCAR 15 promises peak performance for gaming. With 14 cores, 20 threads, and a completely new architecture featuring a hybrid design combining high-performance Performance-cores (P-cores) and power-efficient Efficient-cores (E-cores), the Intel Core i9-12900H 12th Gen processor delivers single-core performance up to 25% higher and multi-core performance up to 43% higher compared to the previous generation (as tested with Cinebench R20 software).

The version of Strix SCAR 15 in my hands is equipped with an Intel Core i7-12700H chip and an RTX 3060 card, although not the most powerful, its performance scores and gaming capabilities are impressive. You can check out some images below for reference.

Additionally, the ROG Strix SCAR 15 stands out with the latest generation DDR5 RAM clocked at up to 4,800 MHz and PCIe Gen 4×4 SSD, ensuring incredibly fast response times. To maintain long-term performance during gaming sessions and prevent lag, the ROG Strix SCAR 15 features MUX Switch functionality, minimizing latency and enhancing performance by directly connecting the discrete graphics card to the display.

When I have to move outside for work, I can easily adjust my laptop back to display mode using the integrated graphics card with just a press of a button in the accompanying Armoury Crate software. This will optimize battery life for my basic office work or personal entertainment needs.

The ASUS ROG Strix SCAR 15 boasts a rugged design, brimming with innovations

Not only does it sport impressive specifications, but I also really admire the completely new design style of the ROG Strix SCAR 15 this year. Specifically, part of the wrist rest of the machine is made transparent, allowing me to see the components inside, which is very interesting. The C surface also stands out with an RGB LED keyboard per key, supporting Aura Sync, allowing us to freely customize according to our personal preferences.

Not stopping there, the new generation ROG Strix SCAR laptop also features a special component called Keystone. Essentially, this is a physical key with a magnetic connection, supporting NFC connectivity and neatly placed within the frame of the ROG Strix SCAR 15. Once connected, the Keystone will instantly synchronize game settings and profiles on the device or quickly open any application like Mail, Facebook... while allowing you to access hidden data sections.

ASUS ROG Strix SCAR 15 also supports Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio technologies for better sound quality. The machine's connectivity ports will remain the same as the previous generation, including 2 USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, 1 USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port (supporting DisplayPort 1.4 and Power Delivery), 1 RJ-45 network port (2.5G Lan), 1 HDMI 2.1b port, and 1 3.5mm audio port. Especially, this 2022 version has also been upgraded with an additional USB Type-C port compared to the previous generation, supporting Thunderbolt 4 standard.

The super cool Intelligent Cooling system of ASUS ROG Strix SCAR 15

A powerful gaming laptop always requires a comprehensive cooling system, so ROG has continued to research and upgrade the Intelligent Cooling technology to new heights in 2022. The ROG Strix SCAR 15 (2022) model will be equipped with a new generation liquid metal thermal adhesive called Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut Extreme. This type of adhesive will reduce CPU temperature by up to 15°C compared to traditional thermal adhesives, stabilize CPU frequency over time, optimize performance and lifespan for the cooling fan, while minimizing noise during gaming sessions.

Additionally, the Arc Flow 84 fan system is also a highlight that cannot be overlooked on the new generation ASUS ROG Strix SCAR 15. Specifically, this laptop is equipped with 4 large heat vents and ROG's exclusive dust-resistant cooling technology, which optimizes heat dissipation and reduces dust buildup over long periods of use. In case the CPU and GPU temperatures drop below 60°C, the ROG Strix SCAR 15 will automatically switch to 0 dB Ambient Cooling mode, completely turning off the cooling fan system, providing an absolutely quiet experience.

How much does ASUS ROG Strix SCAR 15 cost? Is it worth buying?

The new generation ROG Strix SCAR 15 (2022) will officially go on sale from February 1st with a starting price of 53.99 million VND. I think this is a relatively reasonable price considering what the new ASUS laptop is equipped with.
