Dash cams are among the myriad of accessories BMW offers to its customers, and this is also one of the genuine BMW accessories that I see can compete with third-party dash cam products. The difference lies in the installation method and hardware quality. It will be hard to find another dash cam with such sturdy and secure wiring, and most importantly, absolute peace of mind in installation.This is the 3rd generation, where the upgrade in design is a minor factor. The major upgrade I highly appreciate and decide to use is the improved recording quality up to 2K instead of VGA like the previous generation. It may not be comparable to third-party brands when the competition has pushed products to 4K recording level, but compared to the general standard, the selling price is significantly higher than 2K camera sets from China or Korea. This generation features a duo of cameras, recording both front and rear views. The rear camera captures VGA quality footage, while the front boasts 2K resolution. Accompanied by a substantial and lengthy power cable, suitable for installation in various BMW models, from compact cars to the largest vehicles.
The detachable front camera unit offers handheld convenience even when fully installed in the vehicle. Equipped with physical buttons that prove practical during real-world usage, such as a manual microphone mute button (rather than toggling within an app), a manual recording button (in lieu of automatic), a power button, and a Bluetooth button for convenient phone connectivity when retrieving files or adjusting settings. Additionally, the system includes a notification speaker for recording prompts, parking alerts, with the option to disable these sounds within the application.
Part of the coil of wire, here also not much wire but the total coil is quite large, I still wonder why it needs to be made so big, but basically seeing it has given me a lot of peace of mind.

- G-Sensor motion sensor, records footage upon detecting impact on the vehicle (10 seconds prior and 50 seconds after vibration)
- Motion sensor (combined with G-Sensor) detects people or vehicles moving nearby (front of the car). This feature operates in Parking mode.
- Bluetooth connection to the phone is quick and easy for setup or configuration. For live viewing or file retrieval, the Camera requires Wifi connection permission (This makes connection easier, no need to enter passwords or set up other wifi)
- HDR video recording and Night Vision mode (night recording mode)
- The camera also has a location notification mode, but unfortunately, BMW vehicles in Vietnam have not yet utilized the Connected Drive service package.
