After the impressive success of Galaxy J7 Prime, Samsung introduces another product, smaller and more budget-friendly - the J5 Prime.
1. Hands-on with Samsung Galaxy J5 Prime: Compact Design, Beautiful Display, Affordable Price
Following the remarkable success of Galaxy J7 Prime, Samsung continues to bring another product, smaller and more affordable - J5 Prime.
Samsung has surprised many users and tech enthusiasts in Vietnam. Surprised by the distinctive design, long-lasting battery life, PLS display, and f/1.9 aperture camera – all priced at just over 6 million dong. This is something Samsung has never done before. The company opens up the under 7 million dong segment, challenging Chinese manufacturers, especially Oppo. And upon its return, the value of this giant is immediately evident. The J7 Prime is the best-selling mid-range smartphone in Vietnam.
Recently, to expand the J Prime series and bring good experiences to a lower price segment, Samsung presents the J7 Prime. This is a smaller version of the J7 Prime with a 5-inch screen, HD resolution, and an ultra-sensitive one-touch fingerprint sensor.

The J5 Prime stands out as Samsung's latest smartphone under 5 million
In terms of design, there's no discernible difference between Samsung J5 Prime and J7 Prime, only the size varies. J5 Prime takes the lead with its compact feel, rounded edges, and a matte back for an unbeatable grip. Many users also appreciate J5 Prime's back as it stays fingerprint and dirt-free.
The entire front is covered with eye-catching 2.5D curved Gorilla Glass 3 for a smooth touch experience, superior to its predecessor. The screen edges remain thin, optimized at the bottom and top to prevent the product from being excessively long compared to most smartphones under 5 million dong currently available.
In terms of specifications, J5 Prime is equipped with a 4-core 1.4GHz chip, 2GB RAM, and 16GB internal memory. It's a modest configuration, but with an HD resolution screen, users still have a smooth experience. Antutu Benchmark scores over 36,000, an impressive figure for a 5 million dong smartphone.
One point to note is that the screen technology on J5 Prime is not PLS TFT but rather traditional IPS LCD. Basically, PLS and IPS don't differ much, and the colors on J5 Prime are also very accurate, with high brightness for clear outdoor visibility. Additionally, the device is equipped with a pair of cameras: 13MP with f/1.9 aperture and 5MP with f/2.2.
