ASUS has just released the pair of ROG Strix Scar 16 and Scar 18, continuing the legacy of their predecessors by delivering the most powerful performance in today's world of laptops.

For the ROG Strix Scar 16, users can utilize the integrated virtual numeric keypad along with the touchpad.Compared to its predecessor, this year's lineup of ROG Strix Scar series has all seen an increase in size by 1 inch, specifically from 15 and 17 inches to 16 and 18 inches respectively. As a result, while the overall machine appears larger, we'll have much more workspace.

Naturally, for a gaming laptop, RGB LED is indispensable, with the RGB LED system extending from the ROG logo on the A surface, RGB backlighting for each key, and even LED edge lighting on all four sides, providing a distinctive and colorful appearance.
Users can easily customize this multi-color LED lighting system through the pre-installed Armoury Crate software.
The A surface features the familiar ROG Slash pattern along with the illuminated ROG logo, creating a visually appealing appearance.
Accompanied by the upgraded Armor Cap, boasting a new version that has been enhanced. With flexible and easy-to-remove capabilities, users can 3D print to showcase their personal color preferences.
On the left side, you'll find the DC power port, a 2.5 Gbps RJ-45 LAN port, HDMI 2.1 port, 1 USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port with DisplayPort 1.4 and Power Delivery 3.0, 1 Thunderbolt 4 USB Type-C port with DisplayPort 1.4, along with a 3.5mm audio jack.
On the right side, there are 2 USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports. It can be said that the connectivity ports on the ROG Strix Scar are extremely comprehensive and can meet all user needs.
The display of the ROG Strix Scar duo comes in sizes of 16 inches and 18 inches, with QHD+ resolution, 240Hz refresh rate, only 3ms response time, 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, IPS panel with G-SYNC, Dolby Vision, and PANTONE certification. Additionally, the screen has a 16:10 aspect ratio, providing a larger workspace.
Typically, the screens on gaming laptops are not highly regarded; however, the ROG Strix Scar brings a completely different experience compared to typical gaming laptops. The main screen displays extremely well with high resolution and color accuracy. This screen is not only suitable for gamers but can also be used for graphic-related tasks.
The webcam is positioned above in a cluster with a design reminiscent of an 'upside-down bunny ear'.
ASUS ROG Strix Scar 16 and ROG Strix Scar 18 deliver the most powerful configuration currently available on a laptop. These laptops boast
an Intel Core i9-13980HX Processor with 24 cores and 32 threads, coupled with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 GPU with a TGP of up to 175W, providing a total performance of up to 240W thanks to Dynamic Boost technology. Additionally, users can customize it with Manual Mode. Accompanying this is up to 64GB of DDR5 4800 MHz RAM and a 4TB PCIe 4.0 SSD.

ROG Strix Scar 18 is equipped with the new generation Intelligent Cooling system, featuring 3-fan cooling technology and a thermal venting system surrounding the chassis, optimizing airflow efficiency and increasing contact area with heat sinks by up to 92.23% compared to the 2022 model.
Paired with the new generation Conductonaut Extreme liquid metal thermal paste on both CPU and GPU, along with a 7-copper heat pipe cooling system, ROG Strix Scar 18 can push performance to unprecedented levels.
The user's connection point to the laptop is the keyboard and touchpad, so ASUS has brought numerous upgrades to the ROG Strix Scar 16 and Strix Scar 18. ROG Strix Scar 18 features a full-size keyboard with a separate numeric keypad, while the 16-inch version has moved the numeric keypad to the touchpad thanks to NumberPad technology.
The keyboard features per-key LED lighting compatible with Aura Sync, with a key travel of up to 2mm and a keycap thickness of 0.25mm. Additionally, there are 5 customizable hotkeys to suit user preferences.
The mouse pad has also been increased in size by 10%, providing a more comfortable user experience.
With a battery capacity of 90Wh, according to the manufacturer's announcement, the device can provide up to 8.5 hours of viewing time and can be charged from 0% to 50% in just 30 minutes. However, to fully exploit the device's performance, users will need to plug in the charger. The charging adapter for the Scar 16 and Scar 18 duo is quite hefty, with a power rating of up to 330W.
