Hands-on with the Eufy RoboVac L70 Hybrid Dust Vacuum Robot

The setup process for remote control is simple and quick, with strong suction and thorough wiping capability, leaving the house spotless - these are the aspects I admire about Eufy's RoboVac.For those interested, Eufy is Anker's smart home brand. Having previously tried one, I found it satisfactory, hence this time, I decided to give another model a shot. The outcome has left me quite pleased with what it delivers.Comparing to Luân's previous G10 Hybrid, I find this one more sophisticated with its dust bin design and the easier, more versatile water tank placement on the top, along with a greater variety of accompanying accessories. Moreover, the L70's LIDAR sensor and infrared sensor will enhance its navigation, enabling smart mapping of the house and particularly preventing it from bumping into objects or even rudely crashing into its owner's legs.Actually, the G10 was already quite efficient in maneuvering under tables and chairs for dust suction, and of course, returning to its charging dock after completing its task. However, thanks to the LIDAR sensor for laser-based surroundings recognition and distance measuring, the L70's mapping and navigation process will be significantly smarter. This is the LIDAR sensor, which rotates six times per second while the robot is in motion to map the surrounding space. Personally, I find its mapping speed quite impressive; after just one run of about 25 minutes around the living room, the map of its operation area was already generated, including both vacuuming and mopping. In terms of cleaning ability, the L70 Hybrid is a robot capable of both vacuuming and mopping. Eufy claims its suction power is 2200Pa, and in reality, the combination of brushes, wheels, and suction allows it to pick up various debris from the floor, including large paper pieces and small dust particles.
I appreciate its mopping capability because simply running the L70 on tile floors produces satisfying squeaky sounds, indicating sufficient pressure to remove dirt.Another feature I like about this robot is its dust disposal and water filling mechanism. All we need to do is open the top lid, then pull out the dust bin from inside to empty it and fill water from the outside. After cleaning, simply refill water and insert it back in. I'm currently using an iRobot, and every time I clean it, the process is quite complicated, to the point of being lazy, starting from having to flip it over.Includes both a filter screen and an outer mesh filter. Also comes with a cleaning brush to help remove dirt and hair stuck inside that cannot be rinsed out in the trash bin.One thing to note is that after each cleaning session, it's advisable to clean the robot. If it gets too full, some debris may remain inside when removing the dust bin, requiring extra cleaning effort.Controlling via the app is quite straightforward. It only takes a few steps to link the L70 robot with the EufyHome app, available on both iOS and Android. From there, we can control the robot's vacuuming and mopping activities both at home and remotely, select specific areas for cleaning, and even schedule automatic cleaning sessions. After linking, we can also command the L70 through Google or Alexa, depending on the smart home ecosystem we're using.I let the L70 run in my apartment's living room, taking about 25 minutes to clean an area of around 50 square meters. I noticed that the L70 navigates around the house, following the map and moving in a sweeping motion, similar to how I manually mop the floor. Having a robotic assistant follow my commands is quite satisfying. Another feature I appreciate is the ability to control the robot precisely via the app, allowing me to use it instead of a traditional vacuum cleaner in smaller, more complex rooms with more obstacles, especially in areas where I'm concerned about it running amok.As for the price, the L70 Hybrid is priced at 13 million VND, which I find quite reasonable considering it comes with all the bells and whistles: vacuuming and mopping capabilities, a sensible dust collection design, easy water refill, LIDAR and laser sensors for mapping the house, and avoiding collisions with objects. It's a stark contrast to my outdated iRobot, which bumps into everything, allowing for specific area selection for mopping and vacuuming, easy setup, and seamless app connectivity. The Eufy RoboVac L70 - A2190 will be discounted to 9,990,000 VND (23% off) and comes with an additional Eufy HomeVac H11 Pure handheld vacuum cleaner worth 1,400,000 VND on the SHOPEE e-commerce platform from October 10th to October 12th.
