At the WWDC 2023 event, the 15-inch version of the M2 was unveiled. This can be considered a direction for users who want a larger screen but don't need the powerhouse performance of the Pro version, yet still ensure basic and average usage needs. Quick to the draw, Mytour had the opportunity to unbox and get hands-on with the first 15-inch version in Vietnam. Let's explore together.

In Vietnam, Apple will sell this 15-inch Air product line in 4 color variants: Silver, Starlight,
Silver, Starlight, Space Gray andDeep Blue Night. The MacBook Air M2 15-inch comes bundled with a dual-head 35W C charger with a plug standard depending on the market, or if you prefer, you can switch to a 70W USB-C charger, and a USB-C to MagSafe 3.0 cable. Similar to previous products, the laptop still supports charging through the USB-C Thunderbolt port with a maximum power of up to 67W.

In terms of design, the MacBook Air M2 15-inch is an enlarged version of the MacBook Air M2 13-inch. Therefore, the design language is also similar with a flat frame. The machine's A side has the familiar Apple logo, while the D side will have 4 redesigned feet to securely anchor the laptop.

Despite being larger in size and weight, this is still an extremely thin and light laptop with dimensions of only 23.76 x 34.04 x 1.15 cm and a weight of 1.51 kg. According to Apple, this is currently the thinnest 15-inch laptop in the world.

With a weight of 1.51kg, the 15-inch version is heavier than the 1.24kg of the 13-inch version. However, during use, you will hardly notice the difference; you can easily hold the laptop with one hand. In addition, the weight is evenly distributed, so when carrying it, you won't feel bulky.

The feel when holding this laptop is not overly heavy, though not as comfortable as the 13-inch version, you can still easily lift it with just one hand.

The frame is entirely made of aluminum, providing a solid feel when in use. The hinge's finish is also excellent, allowing for easy one-handed opening, and when opened, the hinge holds securely without wobbling during movement.

The most significant difference on the MacBook Air M2 15-inch is the Liquid Retina display with a size of up to 15.3 inches, a resolution of 2880 x 1864 pixels, a pixel density of 224 pixels, a maximum brightness of 500 nits, wide P3 color gamut, and True Tone. The screen still has a notch to house the 1080p webcam along with sensors.

Similar to other MacBook products, the device still delivers a great experience with highly accurate colors that can satisfy even the most demanding users.

The keyboard still has a layout similar to the 13-inch version but with a more spacious design. The keyboard usage experience is excellent with key travel neither too long nor too short. The typing feel remains consistent with recent Apple MacBooks.

The touchpad has also been upgraded in terms of usability compared to the 13-inch version, making gestures easier to perform. The touchpad is still very accurate and responsive.

Another significant upgrade for the 15-inch version is the speaker system, with an addition of 2 more speakers bringing the total to 6. While the 4-speaker system on the 13-inch version is already good, the upgrade to 6 speakers on the MacBook Air M2 15-inch provides a considerably better audio experience. The speaker quality on the 15-inch version is comparable to the duo.

The MacBook Air M2 15-inch continues to be equipped with the new M2 chip with an 8-core CPU and a 10-core GPU. The base model comes with 8GB of RAM, with options for 16GB and 24GB, along with default 256GB and options for up to a maximum of 2TB SSD.

The MacBook Air M2 15-inch achieves a single-core performance score of 2582 points and a multi-core performance score of 9800 points.
