Samsung's most powerful laptop to date, released alongside the Galaxy S23 series. This device has sparked my curiosity about its size and real-world screen experience. Now, I finally have the opportunity to get my hands on it.Although not officially launched in Vietnam, Samsung is currently showcasing them at MWC, so I'll quickly share with you what these laptops have to offer.
The first thing that impressed me about this laptop is its oversized touchpad, which is over 39% larger than that of the previous Samsung powerhouse, the Galaxy Book2 Pro. A larger touchpad provides a better user experience, with more comfortable tracking and navigation.
Above the keyboard area is a full-size layout, including a numeric keypad for enhanced input. Samsung also integrates a fingerprint sensor for quicker access. Overall, this is a sizable machine, and upon lifting it, it's not as light as initially anticipated.
As for the display, Samsung equips the Galaxy Book3 Ultra with a large 16' OLED panel boasting a 2.8K resolution (2880 x 1800) and a refresh rate of 120Hz. This laptop's display also offers a DCI-P3 color gamut coverage of 120% and a maximum brightness of 500 nits.
The hardware powerhouse of the Galaxy Book3 Ultra lies in the latest 13th generation Intel Raptor Lake H CPU, available in two options: Core i7 and Core i9. GPU choices include the RTX 4050 and RTX 4070, providing the capability to meet demands for design and graphics while also offering entertainment with modern games, thanks to its robust hardware platform. The Galaxy Book3 Ultra offers options for either 16GB or 32GB of RAM and either a 512GB or 1TB SSD.
In terms of connectivity, we have 1 USB-A port, 1 microSD card slot, and a 3.5mm jack, while on the other side, there's HDMI and Thunderbolt 4. The Galaxy Book3 Ultra weighs in at 1.8kg, and although it feels quite heavy when held, overall, this laptop appears quite thin. It features a gradually tapered design towards the palm rest area, giving it a slim profile. Overall, you'll find it surprisingly slim for its weight.
In general, laptops are a product line that Samsung has not officially distributed in the Vietnamese market yet. However, from my observation, the price range that Samsung offers for their laptops is attractive and not excessively high. Hopefully, in the near future, Samsung will introduce the Galaxy Book3 series to the Vietnamese market.
