At the Galaxy Unpacked 2023 event held in San Francisco, USA at 1 AM Vietnamese time, Samsung officially introduced a completely new product series with many notable upgrades compared to its predecessor generation. Similar to before, the Galaxy S23 is unveiled with three versions: Galaxy S23, and Galaxy S23 Ultra, with the Ultra version being the highest-end model.

In this article, Mytour presents to its valued readers a detailed hands-on experience with the Galaxy S23 Ultra to see how Samsung has brought upgrades to users compared to the previous generation.
In terms of appearance, only the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+ have notable design language changes, while the Galaxy S23 Ultra remains almost unchanged from its predecessor. Nevertheless, this still represents a premium and luxurious design at the forefront of the market.

The Galaxy S23 Ultra will still feature a back panel made of frosted glass material, curved on both edges for a more comfortable grip. Curved edge back panels are essential for smartphones with large screens. The device comes in color options such as black, white, blue, and purple, with additional exclusive color options only available on Samsung's online store (depending on the country).

At first glance, users may feel that the Galaxy S23 Ultra resembles the S22 Ultra, however, there are still a few small details that differentiate the new generation from the old. Specifically, the Galaxy S23 Ultra will have flatter edges on both sides, along with a slightly larger main cluster with a metal ring around the camera for clearer visibility.

The highlight on the back of the Galaxy S23 Ultra is the main camera system consisting of 4 lenses with laser autofocus sensors and LED flash. The camera cluster design remains unchanged from the Galaxy S22 Ultra last year, still featuring discrete lenses arranged separately and not within a camera module.

In terms of specifications, there is an upgrade in the resolution of the wide-angle camera on the Galaxy S23 Ultra as Samsung uses the ISOCELL HP3 200MP sensor for the first time, nearly doubling the resolution compared to its predecessor. The 200MP sensor when shooting in normal mode will combine 16 pixels together to create the highest quality 12.5MP final image. For real-world experience regarding autofocus speed and quality, Mytour will send its valued readers a detailed review article soon.

Regarding the other lenses, the Galaxy S23 Ultra still features a 12MP ultra-wide camera with a 120-degree field of view, a 10MP 3X telephoto camera for portrait shots, and a 10MP 10X periscope telephoto camera capable of hybrid zoom up to 100X. Samsung states that it has improved the quality and algorithms to help long-range zoom photos have much higher detail than before, along with adding the feature of capturing night sky through RAW camera.

That's about the cameras, moving to the front, the Galaxy S23 Ultra is equipped with a 6.8-inch screen, with a 3D curved design on the edges. This screen has a QHD+ resolution, using a Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel with a variable refresh rate of 120Hz, supporting HDR10+, and with a maximum brightness of up to 1750 nits. It is known that Samsung also equips an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor for this year's Galaxy S23 series, for fast, sensitive, and high-security processing.

In addition, the Galaxy S23 Ultra is also the first smartphone on the market to be equipped with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 tempered glass, enhancing the durability of the screen during use.
The display of the Galaxy S23 Ultra features a 'hole-punch' design with a 12MP selfie camera, reduced from the 40MP resolution on the predecessor Galaxy S22 Ultra. Samsung explains the reduction in resolution to equip the selfie camera with the ability to record 4K 60fps videos.

In terms of performance, the Galaxy S23 Ultra is equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, a customized version specifically for the Galaxy device, accompanied by a high-quality vapor chamber cooling system. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is an extremely powerful chipset at the current time, capable of meeting all user gaming needs from light to heavy, including graphics-intensive open-world titles like . Real-world performance experiences will soon be delivered by Mytour through a detailed review of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy chipset.

The Galaxy S23 Ultra comes with 8GB/12GB of RAM, starting storage options ranging from 256GB to 1TB, eliminating the 128GB variant. The device features a 5000mAh battery, supporting wired 45W PD3.0 fast charging and 10W wireless charging, of course, the charging brick will not be included.

One of the key features that cannot be overlooked when mentioning the Ultra series of the Galaxy S lineup is the S Pen. In reality, this S Pen retains all the features from the previous version, adding a few minor features such as handwriting to text conversion mode (with Vietnamese support) and improving the accuracy of the pen. The S Pen supports various features such as remote photo capture, slide presentation, music navigation, text translation, diverse gesture operations, and more.
