Unboxing the OPPO A38 to see what's inside!
The packaging of the OPPO A38 bears many similarities to other products in the OPPO A 2023 series. Specifically, the OPPO A38 box features a predominantly white color scheme with the product name printed on the front and left side of the box.

Upon opening, we'll find all the accessories that come with the phone such as user manual, SIM ejector tool, transparent case, fast charger, and USB-C cable.

Hands-on with the OPPO A38 featuring a youthful design, water and dust resistance with IP54 rating
Overall, on the outside, the OPPO A38 boasts a square design with flat back and surrounding frame. This somewhat enhances grip when holding the phone. Additionally, the frame is slightly chamfered to reduce hand sharpness.

The color options of the OPPO A38 are very stylish and suitable for young users. If you're someone who likes to stand out like me, the Copper Gold version of the OPPO A38 will be the perfect choice for you. Conversely, the Black version of the OPPO A38 will be the opposite.

Looking at the back of the OPPO A38, we can see the prominent black pill-shaped dual camera cluster. Combined with that is a striking gradient strip completely contrasting with the color of the phone's back. If you look closely, you'll notice that this back design style has been applied by OPPO on other models such as the OPPO A78, OPPO A58, or OPPO Reno8 T Series.

In terms of material, the entire frame and back of the OPPO A38 are crafted from sturdy plastic with solid finishing, avoiding any flimsiness. This is also the reason why the overall weight of this phone is only about 190g. Thanks to this, I can hold and use the OPPO A38 with one hand for a long time without feeling tired.

On the front, the OPPO A38 boasts a 6.56-inch display with a waterdrop notch housing the selfie camera. The bezels around the phone's screen are nearly uniform (except for the slightly thicker bottom bezel). In terms of display quality, the OPPO A38's screen has HD+ resolution along with a 90Hz refresh rate.
The OPPO A38 offers impressive specifications with the Helio G85 chip and support for up to 4GB of virtual RAM
In addition to its youthful design, the OPPO A38 also boasts excellent hardware specifications compared to its price range. Here's a summary of the OPPO A38's specifications for you to easily grasp:
- Display: 6.56-inch size, IPS LCD panel, HD+ resolution (720 x 1,612 pixels), 90Hz refresh rate.
- CPU: MediaTek Helio G85.
- RAM: 4 GB (supports expansion through virtual RAM up to 4 GB).
- Internal Storage: 128 GB.
- Rear Camera: 50 MP + 2 MP.
- Front Camera: 5 MP.
- Battery: 5,000 mAh, supports 33W fast charging.
- Operating System: ColorOS 13.1 - Android 13.

As you can see in the specifications above, the OPPO A38 is equipped with the MediaTek Helio G85 processor, which has been featured in many budget smartphones today. During usage, I found that all swiping and app interactions on the OPPO A38 were relatively smooth and quick. However, the device may struggle with heavier tasks such as high-graphic gaming, and I'll share more details in the OPPO A38 performance review in the near future, so stay tuned!

In addition, the OPPO A38 also features the 'RAM Expansion' function with a maximum capacity of up to 4 GB. When combined with the default 4 GB RAM of the device, we'll have 8 GB of RAM for multitasking multiple tasks and applications simultaneously.

The 5,000 mAh battery capacity is also a highlight of the OPPO A38, promising to provide users with usage throughout the day. Additionally, OPPO's new phone also supports SuperVOOC 33W fast charging technology.
How much does the OPPO A38 cost?
As mentioned above, the OPPO A38 is being sold officially at Mytour for 4.49 million VND for the 4GB RAM, 128GB internal memory version (price may vary depending on the time and promotional program). For me, this figure is truly a steal for a smartphone with a youthful design, good configuration, and especially IP54 water and dust resistance.
