On March 31st, Xiaomi officially introduced the all-new Redmi Note 12 series to the Vietnamese market, including two versions: Redmi Note 12 4G and Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G. The new lineup targets young users who prefer trendy design, powerful hardware, and accessible pricing.

In this article, Mytour presents a detailed hands-on experience with the Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G, a premium device with even more powerful hardware, albeit at a higher price than the standard version.
The version featured in this article is the beautiful blue variant. The device comes in Xiaomi's traditional packaging, complete with all the accessories, including a fast charger, USB-C cable, transparent silicone case, SIM ejector tool, and user manual.

In addition to the blue variant, users also have two more color options to choose from: frost white and midnight black.
The Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G features an attractive and youthful appearance thanks to its flat back panel crafted from frosted matte glass (for the blue variant) and glossy glass for the other two colors. The frame of the device is made from plastic, featuring a sleek square design with gently curved corners and edges for comfortable handling without causing hand fatigue.

The back of the Redmi Note 12 Pro stands out with its main camera module consisting of three lenses. Users will find the following camera setup: a 50MP wide-angle camera using the Sony IMX766 sensor similar to the one on the Xiaomi 12S, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 2MP macro camera. This camera system adequately meets users' basic photography needs with high-quality results.

Below are some images captured from the main camera of the Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G for readers to assess the camera quality of this device.
On the front, the Redmi Note 12 Pro features a 6.67-inch display, utilizing a 10-bit OLED panel with FHD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and achieving a brightness of 900 nits. This display adopts a punch-hole design with a 16MP selfie camera positioned in the center of the top edge of the screen. The display quality is excellent, catering well to consumers' entertainment needs.

Despite featuring an AMOLED display, Xiaomi still places the fingerprint sensor of the device on the side edge, integrated into the power button rather than using an under-display optical fingerprint sensor. Nevertheless, the side-mounted capacitive fingerprint sensor offers higher speed and accuracy compared to optical sensors.
Xiaomi smartphones are also the only devices on the market still equipped with an infrared port on the top edge, allowing users to control household appliances. Additionally, the Redmi Note 12 series also features a 3.5mm headphone jack, a feature not present in every smartphone on the market.

Regarding performance, the Redmi Note 12 Pro is equipped with the Dimensity 1080 chip from MediaTek. This is a new mobile chip, an upgraded version of the Dimensity 900 series, improving performance and supporting high-resolution cameras up to 200MP, although this device only has a 50MP camera. The official version in Vietnam comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
