Hands-on with Xiaomi Smart Band 8 featuring a Familiar, Youthful Design
When you think of the Xiaomi Band series, what comes to mind first? Probably the slim, compact pill-shaped design, and this is clearly evident in Xiaomi Smart Band 8. The overall dimensions of this product are 48 x 22.5 x 10.99 mm, and it weighs 27 grams including the strap. This is why Xiaomi Smart Band 8 provides a wearing experience that feels almost weightless, and this is also a feature that I highly appreciate in the Xiaomi Smart Band series.

Similar to the Xiaomi Smart Band 7, Xiaomi Smart Band 8 does not have any additional physical buttons around the body. This contributes to the overall sleek and simple design of Xiaomi Smart Band 8. However, the absence of physical buttons is a disadvantage when the device lags or freezes, as there is no way to quickly exit an application other than waiting for the system to process it on its own. I encountered this a few times with Xiaomi Smart Band 7, so I hope Xiaomi Smart Band 8 does not face the same issue.

In contrast to its predecessor, the Xiaomi Smart Band 8 features a polished frame, giving the device a much more sophisticated look. This device isn't just about health tracking; it's a stylish accessory that stands out.

Xiaomi has revamped the strap attachment of the Smart Band 8, opting for a snap-on mechanism instead of a continuous strap. This allows users to easily change and attach a variety of popular straps available in the market. Additionally, the Xiaomi Smart Band 8 comes with exciting accessories, such as a clip to transform it into a necklace and a clamp to attach the device to shoes for more accurate step counting.

As for the display, the Xiaomi Smart Band 8 features a 1.62-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 192 x 490 pixels. With these specifications, the Smart Band 8 effectively presents content, notifications, messages, etc., in various lighting conditions and different environments.

Notably, the Smart Band 8's display has been enhanced with a brightness level of 600 nits, 100 nits higher than its predecessor. While not the brightest on a wearable device, it still meets the user's needs in various conditions.
Xiaomi Smart Band 8 enhances health sensors, supporting various workout modes
To use Xiaomi Smart Band 8 more effectively, you need to download the Mi Fitness app available on both CH Play and App Store. When connected to your phone, users can customize watch faces, notifications for calls, messages, app alerts, and view health tracking data charts.

Moreover, Xiaomi Smart Band 8 supports a wide range of health and workout tracking features found in previous generations, including heart rate, blood oxygen levels, stress levels, various exercises, with higher accuracy. This allows you to accurately assess your body's condition for timely improvements.

Notably, Xiaomi Smart Band 8 supports 150 sports modes for you to choose from. Particularly interesting is the Running Bean running mode. This feature provides up to 13 different metrics during running, such as stride length, ground contact time ratio, and impact force on the ground. For optimal use of this feature, it is recommended to clip the watch above your shoe for the most accurate results.

A notable upgrade of Xiaomi Smart Band 8 is the entertainment mode for users. Specifically, this product comes with pre-installed light games such as Shooting, Sudoku, 2048, Egg Shooting, etc. This allows you to enjoy casual entertainment without having to take your phone out of your pocket. It's a feature loved by many Xiaomi Smart Band 7 users, and Xiaomi seems to find it intriguing enough to include in Xiaomi Smart Band 8.

As for the battery life, the Xiaomi Smart Band 8 is equipped with a large battery that can last up to 16 days. Therefore, you can comfortably use the device without worrying too much about whether the Xiaomi Smart Band 8 will run out of battery.
How much does the Xiaomi Smart Band 8 cost? Is it worth buying?
Currently, the Xiaomi Smart Band 8 will be available at Mytour with a price of 990,000 VND (may vary depending on the time and promotional programs). In my opinion, this is a reasonable price considering the upgrades this product has over the previous generation. Therefore, Xiaomi Smart Band 8 is expected to be the next national product for Vietnamese users.
