Dalat tourism is renowned as a mythical paradise with breathtaking natural beauty that leaves everyone in awe. If you're an explorer, fond of adventure, one of the must-visit places is Hang Cop Waterfall.
Wild, majestic yet equally enchanting
Hang Cop Waterfall is located 15km east of Dalat city, in Tuy Son hamlet, Xuan Tho commune, Dalat city. It is a beautiful, untouched scenic spot hidden in endless pine forests. This is an ideal Dalat tourist spot for travelers seeking outdoor adventures.

Hang Cop waterfall, known by various names like Da Sar, Long Nhan, Ong Thuan,... but most famously as Hang Cop. It's called so because from the high hill, tourists can see a 5m tall, 10m long tiger-shaped statue on a wide mound. In the faint morning sunlight piercing through the thin lingering mist on the ground, Hang Cop waterfall reveals itself in its wild, majestic glory, justifying its name.
The path down to this Dalat tourist spot is rugged and perilous, with towering rocky mountains on one side and deep, abyssal valleys on the other. After conquering many winding, twisting sections of the road, reaching a narrow, deeply secluded valley, one suddenly hears a somewhat chilling sound. Amidst the gloomy primeval forest, shrouded in mist, that sound may initially make one tremble, but then gradually find it intriguing upon realizing it's just the sound of the waterfall crashing against the rocks. The sound echoes like the roar of a mountain god.
The water from the main waterfall (20m high) cascades down into a lake and continues to flow through 7 lower tiers, each about 4m high. The rushing water crashes down the rocky cliffs, creating frothy white foam and emitting a sound that reverberates for miles. Following the stream below the hill, one will find a natural cave about 40m2 in size, with 3 compartments including 1 chamber and 2 openings.

The beauty of Hang Cop waterfall
Upon reaching the foot of the waterfall, visitors are sure to be enveloped by the misty spray, the chilling coldness of the rocks, and the dampness that creates a mesmerizing scenic beauty that captivates the heart. Looking up from the base of the waterfall, the first impression is a gushing column of white water cascading down from above, forcefully and loudly crashing into the deep lake below, then flowing along a small hidden stream disappearing behind the trees and vanishing into the forest.
As dusk descends, the golden sunlight pierces through the towering pine forests before gradually fading away, the leaves of the palm-shaped trees closing their tired eyes, also the time when myriad sounds of the mountain forest begin to awaken. The rustling, murmuring sounds of the forest; the fluttering of birds returning to their nests amidst the wild, tranquil space, and rising faintly in the lonely twilight is the steady sound of a “growling tiger” emanating from the legendary waterfall, sometimes startling you, making you think it's real.

As night falls, when the moon rises over the mountain ridge casting its blue light, the mist gently lingers over the thousand trees and grass,... A tranquil, moonlit night.
Besides the majestic, mysterious wilderness of Hang Cop waterfall, this place also attracts tourists with the pristine beauty of the pine and mixed forests containing many rare species of trees. Moreover, visitors can admire the peculiar flowers like the name of this place suggests, “Tiger Claw Flower”. Nature seems to generously grant us countless fascinating wonders.
