Website available in both Vietnamese and English, presenting information on destinations, restaurants, hotels, and transportation for disabled travelers.
Hanoi Launches Accessible Tourism Information Platform
The project to develop the accessible tourism information platform is undertaken by the Bright Future for People with Disabilities group under the Hanoi Disability Association since December 2016, sponsored by the Abilis Fund (Finland). The project team comprises three main members: Ngo Tuyet Lan, Hoang Thi Thai Ha, and Trinh Thi Thu Thuy.
Through the Accessible Tourism website (available in both Vietnamese and English) and the Facebook social media page with the same name, people with disabilities can find information about tourist attractions to plan their trips proactively.

The website is established to introduce 22 tourist attractions, 7 restaurants, 8 hotels, and transportation facilities and locations such as Hanoi train station, Noi Bai airport… Accompanying this is a list of suitable infrastructure conditions for people with disabilities. Furthermore, the website includes a consultation section, sharing travel stories, and legal documents related to people with disabilities.
The Bright Future group is constructing an additional Facebook page titled “Accessible Travel in Vietnam” to enhance interaction and provide quicker information updates. The page showcases photo albums of surveyed tourist attractions, restaurants, hotels, and transportation options.
Ms. Trinh Thuy shared that the group faced numerous challenges during project implementation, notably in mobility and surveying due to designs lacking support for people with disabilities (lack of handrails, ramps, etc.). Additionally, Ms. Thuy expressed concerns that visually and hearing impaired individuals would encounter difficulties during visits due to limited availability of audio guide headphones, Braille introductions... Thus, the project greatly needs to expand its survey scope and encourage more participation and contributions.
