As per the information from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hanoi on September 18th, the Capital Hanoi has recently been voted by readers of Smart Travel Asia Magazine – the leading online travel magazine in Asia as the 5th attractive destination in the list of top 10 leading destinations in Asia for 2013.
The voting was based on the opinions and evaluations of readers who have previously visited Hanoi, heard about Hanoi, or learned about Hanoi through various means.
Therefore, compared to 2012, tourism in the Capital has been promoted by one level and continues to affirm its position as a leading destination in Vietnam and an attractive destination in the region. It is estimated that in the first 9 months of 2013, the number of international visitors to Hanoi reached approximately 1.9 million (a 20% increase compared to the same period in 2012); domestic visitors reached 11.72 million (an 11.7% increase compared to the same period in 2012).
