The Vietnam Record Organization has established a record for the Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hau Giang province for the most 200 traditional rice and glutinous rice cakes.
Hau Giang achieves milestone with 200 rice and glutinous rice cakes
The event took place during the Vietnam International Rice and Rice Product Festival – Hau Giang 2023. The Vietnam Record Organization assessed, evaluated, and awarded the record certificate to the Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hau Giang province for the most 200 traditional rice and glutinous rice cakes.
To set the record, 40 artisans from Hau Giang, Can Tho, Kien Giang, Ben Tre, Vinh Long, etc., participated in preparing 200 rice and glutinous rice cakes. The culinary artisans were divided into 20 teams, each team making 10 cakes as per the organizer's requirements.
Dozens of chefs nationwide personally selected high-quality rice and glutinous rice, as well as other ingredients such as pork, beans, vegetables, tubers, etc., to create these visually appealing, colorful, and delicious 200 traditional cakes. Alongside renowned traditional cakes like square glutinous rice cake, round glutinous rice cake, sizzling pancake, Tet cake, cylinder-shaped cake, pig skin cake, there were numerous new cakes with distinctive local flavors such as multi-color Tet cake, multi-color sizzling pancake, shrimp and pork stuffed crispy cake, and more.
This event has significantly enhanced the province's reputation and promoted its unique cuisine and specialties, fostering the connection between cuisine and tourism development, attracting both domestic and international tourists.
