White Lake lies amidst vast expanses of white sand dunes, resembling a masterpiece of smooth white sands.
Travelers will be amazed as they ascend the towering sand dunes and behold a sparkling silver lake under the radiant sun, with glimpses of pink lotus flowers gently swaying amidst the lush greenery, creating a dreamy natural panorama.
Approximately 65 km northeast of Phan Thiet, White Lake is situated in Hong Lam hamlet, Hoa Thang commune, Bac Binh district. Visitors can reach White Lake via two different routes: From Hon Rom, take a Jeep ride towards Mui Ne, passing through Mui Ne market, Doi Hong, and along the beach. The journey takes about an hour from Mui Ne to White Lake. Alternatively, from Phan Thiet city, take National Highway 1A to Luong Son, then turn right for about 18km, traversing picturesque white sand dunes, coconut forests, and rocky hills to reach the destination.
White Lake has a long history; it was once a large lake that locals later filled with sand to create a passage. This large lake was then divided into two parts: the small lake and the large lake.
As 'Bau' in the local language means 'lake,' locals have long referred to the small lake as Bau Ong and the large lake as Bau Ba. Bau Ba is larger than Bau Ong and holds more water. Covering an area of 70 hectares, the widest part of Bau Ba stretches to 500m, with an average depth of 5m. During the rainy season, the deepest part of Bau Ba reaches 19m, gradually shallowing towards the shore.
Amidst the white sand dunes, White Lake is also known as White Lake and is often referred to as Lotus Lake today because during the lotus blooming season, the lake is covered with blooming lotus flowers. The ecosystem in Lotus Lake is rich, with various freshwater fish species: carp, snakehead fish, catfish, grass carp...
The lake is surrounded by white sand dunes with the sun and wind bestowed by nature making the lake stunningly beautiful. Looking down from the sand dunes, the calm lake resembles a shimmering mirror of pink lotus, with distant dark sand dunes rising and falling, leaving travelers marveling and admiring.
White Lake remains pristine and rustic. However, it is precisely this wild and rustic charm, with its white sand dunes and the sound of waves, that seems to have a magnetic pull on those who are captivated by beauty, drawing them here to seek artistic inspiration.
Visitors to White Lake can rent a boat from local fishermen to explore, relax, and fish, making for a delightful experience. The cool, refreshing water at White Lake soothes the hot air of the vast sand dunes, creating a picturesque natural scene that everyone who comes to this area wants to visit.
