Using Lipton black tea, this black tea fruit smoothie recipe is easy to make, nutritious, and packed with delicious ingredients like frozen berries and yogurt. Perfect for breakfast, light afternoon snacks, or even dessert.
Smoothie making is highly flexible, allowing you to mix and match ingredients based on what you have! It only takes a few minutes to create a flavorful drink packed with all the components to keep you energized throughout the day.
In this black tea fruit smoothie recipe, I use Lipton® Black Tea and add no additional sugar. Natural fruit sugars sweeten the smoothie, maximizing all the benefits from black tea.
Ingredients
1 cup brewed Lipton® black tea (cooled), 1 cup milk, 3/4 cup Greek yogurt, 1 cup mixed frozen berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries), 1 medium banana, 1 tablespoon ground flaxseed, 1 tablespoon chia seeds
How to Make Black Tea Fruit Smoothie
1. Brew a cup of Lipton® black tea as usual and let the tea bag steep for 3-5 minutes. Let it cool down.
2. In a high-powered blender, add all ingredients and blend on high speed for 1-2 minutes or until well combined. If needed, add more milk.
3. Divide into 2 smoothie glasses. Top with fresh fruit toppings: raspberries, blueberries, and garnish with mint leaves. Enjoy!
Additional Optional Notes: Add 1 tablespoon of avocado, 2 tablespoons of protein powder, 2 handfuls of spinach, honey, or syrup for extra sweetness to the smoothie.
Benefits of Ingredients in Smoothie
– Juicy frozen berries mix: Ensure to utilize frozen berries in your smoothie as it helps create a cold and creamy blend. You can use any mix of berries available at the store: blueberries, strawberries, blackberries, raspberries.
– Banana: Add a delicate flavor, balance the bitterness, and enhance the creamy texture. You can use frozen bananas if available, but fresh ones work just as well.
– Greek yogurt: A smoothie ingredient to boost calcium and protein intake!
– Milk: You can opt for any milk of your choice (cow's milk, almond milk, coconut milk, etc.)
– Ground flaxseed: Rich in omega-3s and fiber!
– Chia seeds: Also packed with beneficial fats like omega-3s.
