Henry Cavill encounters a thigh injury during an action scene in The Witcher Season 2.
Actor Henry Cavill initiates an interview with THR discussing sustaining a thigh muscle injury while filming The Witcher Season 2. Cavill discloses he was sprinting through the woods for a scene when the injury occurred, describing it as a 'very, very nasty tear.' He expresses gratitude that the thigh muscle tendon wasn't completely ruptured.

In The Witcher, actor Henry Cavill portrays Geralt of Rivia, a white-haired monster hunter enhanced with magic known as a Witcher. Geralt's journey takes him across the fictional Continent to fulfill various quests, ultimately receiving a prophecy that alters his fate upon encountering a girl in the woods. Geralt's adventures depict him vanquishing monsters and serving royalty, forging relationships with bard Jaskier (Joey Batey) and sorceress Yennefer of Vengerberg (Anya Chalotra), before meeting the foretold girl in the woods, Ciri (Freya Allan), in the first season's finale.

The Witcher Season 2 is scheduled for exclusive premiere on Netflix on December 17th, finally showcasing to fans Geralt of Rivia (portrayed by Henry Cavill) and Ciri (portrayed by Freya Allan) together after spending much of the first season in search of each other. Both are seen united shortly after the conclusion of Season 1. In a recent trailer release, we witness Geralt striving to protect Princess Cirilla of Cintra from both external threats and her burgeoning magical abilities.

During an interview with THR discussing his various roles and aspirations for the future, Cavill shares about the injury he suffered in December 2020. Describing it as a severe tear that could have led to a complete thigh tendon rupture, Cavill found filming challenging post-injury but persevered to avoid disrupting the production schedule. He reveals the struggle to balance pushing himself while not overextending, labeling the injury as his worst moment of the past year.
'It was a really, really nasty tear, and I feel very lucky that it wasn't a complete tear near the thigh. It made filming quite challenging for me. Because I wanted to dedicate more to the production process - I knew my importance in completing the task. So, I had to find a balance between work and not pushing myself to the brink for my action career. That was my worst moment of the past year,' actor Henry Cavill revealed.
The Witcher Season 2 is set to premiere exclusively on Netflix on December 17, 2021.
