According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, four new MacBook models with M3 chips are expected to debut next year.
The first MacBook M3 is unlikely to debut this yearIn his latest 'Power On' newsletter, Gurman revealed that the new 14 and 16-inch models with M3 Pro and M3 Max chips have reached the design validation test (DVT) stage. This means these devices are about to enter mass production. He believes that the new laptops will appear sometime between early 2024 and spring, similar to the Pro and M2 Max models released earlier this year.
The new 13 and 15-inch models with M3 chips also appear to have reached the engineering validation test (EVT) stage, the previous stage of pre-production testing on prototype devices. Gurman stated that this would bring the next-generation MacBook Air to the earliest launch schedule, which could be as early as mid-spring to mid-summer next year, possibly at the WWDC 2023 event.
